Oil Drum Charcoal Burner - Part 2

Much better result this time, still a few "browns" but not nearly as many as the first time.

Just the same as the first time, except that this time I let it burn for longer

This was taken half an hour after lighting.  When the wood gas caught fire this time I let it continue.

Fifty minutes later its still blazing away.  I let it finish off before closing down.

Meanwhile, I made a tiny fire with the charcoal from the first burn and boiled up some water for a cup of tea.

When I went back a couple of days later the results were much better!

Meanwhile I've been constructing a retort from an old gas bottle within an oil drum.  More about this on another post.

  1. Thanks. The whole process is a bit hit and miss at the moment but I'm beginning to get the hang of it!
